President: Get ready to have new national leadership

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BOGOR - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono said that Indonesian people must respect the results of election, get ready to face new political order, and new national leadership. 

"I hope the new elected legislative candidates and political parties winning big votes will fulfill the people's mandate," the president said after casting his vote in Bogor on Wednesday.

Yudhoyono also expressed his hope that all candidates were ready to accept either victory or defeat. Failed candidates, he said, would have opportunity to run in the next election. 

"That is the spirit of general election," he stated. 

According to Yudhoyono, in every election day, there must be disappointed parties and they can deliver protests with existing way. However, he thinks that it is the color of democracy in Indonesia. Everyone must ready to accept the victory and also defeat.

"Let us respect each other and accept the result. This nation must honor each other and ready to accept new political order and accept new leadership," Yudhoyono said and reminded that people could file their complaints in appropriate manners. 

"Let's respect the result of this general election. The new job has just been started. This nation must respect, and be ready to face new political order and accept new national leadership," he said.
