'Tour de Singkarak' traverses 1,250 KM

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, PADANG -- The international cycling route festival, Tour de Singkarak in West Sumatra will be held on June 7-15, 2014 along the 1,250 kilometers (km). Deputy Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sapta Nirwandar said that the route was divided into nine paths, involving 18 districts and cities in the province.

"All riders will go along 1,250 km. The length increased this year as additional area through West Pasaman regency," Nirwandar said recently.

The first path is located in Pariaman with 116 km path length on June 7. The second path is located in West Pasaman regency with 143 km path length. In the third path, riders will go along 121 km route from Lima Puluh Kota city and finish in Tanah Datar regency.

The fourth path is located in Bukit Tinggi and it will be finish in Agam with a length of 181 km tracks. The fifth path is started from Payakumbuh to Solok as far as 121 km, while the sixth path has a length of 135 km from Padang Panjang to Solok.

Sijunjung district becomes the seventh path. It will be finish in Dharmasraya along 125 km, while the eighth and ninth path each has length of 183 and 125 km. The ninth path will be started in Pesisir Selatan regency to Padang, the closing of annual event. Nirwandar said that all paths would be prepared one month ahead to welcome 'Tour de Singkarak 2014.'
