REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, KARAWANG -- PT Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia (TMMIN) ensured to export Indonesia's Toyota Vios assemblies to Middle East countries. Minister of Industry, MS Hidayat said it in inauguration of Toyota's second factory in Karawang, West Java on Wednesday.
Vios has also been exported to Brunei Darussalam and Singapore since last December 2013. It is also distributed to Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Lebanon and Yemen. It proves Indonesia as Toyota's production base in the eye of the world.
"This expansion as the result of our 7,600 employees' hard work," President Director of PT Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Masahiro Nonami said on Wednesday as reported by CR01.
A total of 1,000 units of Vios will be exported per month and gradually increased to 3,000 units per month. It contributes significantly to the increase of total export volume of Toyota Indonesia.
The inauguration was also attended by ambassadors of 10 countries in Middle East countries and Trade Minister, Muhammad Lutfi.
