Hilton-Putragaya to build Jakarta's tallest hotel tower

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Multinational hotel operator Hilton Worldwide in cooperation with PT Putragaya Wahana will build Jakarta's tallest hotel tower.

The Waldorf Astoria with 74 floors will have 181 bedrooms and suites measuring 60 square meters each, Vice President Development of Asia Hilton Worldwide Guy Phillips said here on Wednesday.

It will have a 2,000 square meter ball rooms that could be used for meeting or other functions, Phillips said.

Jakarta, an Indonesian political, economic and cultural center, has been selected as a target of expansion by Hilton Worldwide.

Jakarta is an Indonesian main gates having sufficient transport facilities especially modern Soekarno Hatta airport.

"We are proud that we could team up with PT Putragaya Wahana to introduce a brand that symbolizes luxury hotel in Jakarta," Senior Vice President of Development for Middle East & Asia Pacific Andrew Clough said.

President Director of PT Putragaya Wahana Alvin Gozali said his company is pleased to take part in building a prestigious 300 meter tall hotel.

"We are proud and pleased to team up with Hilton Worldwide to bring to reality of our vision to build landmark in the heart of commercial center in Jakarta," Alvin said.
