REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The Financial Services Authority (OJK) asked banks, which had large assets to reduce its non-performing loan (NPL) gross ratio in range of 2-2.5 percent. The figure is lower than the limit determined by Bank Indonesia (BI), which is five percent.

"Large banks with category of Buku III and IV must keep its NPL under five percent. They can maintain in range of 2-3 percent," Lubis said recently as reported by Satya Festiani.
Although a large bank has similar NPL percentage to small banks, but the credit figure will be higher than small bank. Three percent of NPL in a large bank can be similar with five percent in small bank (category of Buku I and Buku II).
President Director of Bank Central Asia (BCA), Jahja Setiaatmadja said that BCA has socialized the OJK direction to company's branches. BCA will maintain its NPL maximum of 2.5 percent.
