REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MANADO -- Banking assets in North Sulawesi rose by 15.8 percent in January 2014 following an increase in banking network in the province, official stated.
"In January 2014, the banking assets in North Sulawesi were recorded at Rp29,176 trillion or rose from Rp25,197 trillion in the same period last year," Bank Indonesia representative office spokesman Luctor Tapiheru explained here on Monday.
He pointed out that the number of banks in North Sulawesi up to January rose to 44 with 271 network and offices in the province following an increasing growth of economic activity year after year.
"The banking sector takes advantage of the people's growing economic activities by expanding its network in the province," he explained.
