REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -  Publicly listed Permata Bank will focus on credit on infrastructure sector this year. The company plans to carry out seven syndicate loans with several banks to finance this sector.

Director of Wholesale Banking in Permata Bank, Roy A Arfandy said that company would focus on sectors which had been proven strong against economic shocks, particularly sectors that rely on domestic market and supporting industries, such as transportation and logistics.

"We will focus on energy and infrastructure sectors selectively," Arfandy said recently.

Permata Bank targeted to reach 57.5 trillion IDR or 15 percent growth of loan in 2014 based on Bank Indonesia (BI) data. The figure decreased from 36 percent last year or half of total credit in 2013.

Low credit will reduce the ratio of non-performing loan (NPL) of company. Permata Bank could keep 0.3 percent of NPL in 2013. Arfandy said that company could have the same figure this year.

"Hopefully by using more conservative approach, the NPL will not increase this year," Arfandy added.
