Bank Mutiara orders troubled debtors to pay their debts this year

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Formerly Bank Century, Bank Mutiara has ordered its troubled debtors to pay their debts this year. The bank will take legal action if they do not pay the debts in term. Corporate Secretary of Bank Mutiara, Rohan Hafas said that company set a deadline until this June to five troubled debtors to immediately pay its debts.

"We have held a meeting with them. The debts must be completed in 2014 to restructure our financial report," Hafas said recently.

The five debtors are companies, namely PT Selalang Prima Inter, PT Polymer Spectrum Sentosa, PT Trio Irama, PT Catur Karya Manunggal and PT Enerindo. Total of non-performing loan (NPL) of Bank Mutiara reached 1.02 trillion IDR per September 2013. About 82.8 percent or 840.21 billion IDR comes from previous debtor management, while 17.2 percent or 178.80 billion IDR are new debtors. 

Meanwhile, in a general meeting on Wednesday, Bank Mutiara appointed new director. Company installed Felix Istiyono Hartadi Tiono as Director of Compliance. He previously served as Director of Compliance in HSBC. Bank Mutiara now has four directors. Two old directors also resigned from company, namely Benny Purnomo (Director of Distribution Network) and Boediono (Director of Consumer Credit and Micro).
