University of Indonesia breaks Asian record

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, DEPOK -- University of Indonesia (UI) managed to break Asian record and won the first prize in category of Urban Concept Gasoline in Manila, Philippines. The international achievement was represented by a team of Super Mileage Vehicle (SMV).

"UI SMV team won the first position with a record of 301 km/l at the shell eco marathon event 2014 in Manila," Manager of Student Affairs, Faculty of Engineering in UI, Anondo Wijanarko said to M Ibrahim Hamdani recently.

SMV team used an aerodynamic design with carbon fiber. They used gasoline type KALABIA Evo-4. The UI business since 2010 ended sweetly.

 

SMV team consisted of three students coming from Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences and Faculty of Humanities. The group was named Sadewa.
