BRI gains four billion RMB on export proceeds

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - State owned PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) gained four million RMB of export proceeds in 2013. RMB or Chinese yuan was competitive against the USD and it becomes the third largest currency in term of value of credit transaction.

BRI Corporate Secretary, Muhammad Ali said that company opened this service since 2010. BRI RMB service provided import and export transaction, remittance, money changer and deposit. 

"These services are utilized by corporate customers," Ali said recently. 

BRI is optimistic with RMB service, especially when China becomes the world's largest economic power. Transaction at BRI money changer reached 3.9 million RMB in 2012-2013.

Trade cooperation between Indonesia and China increase from year to year. Vice President Boediono said that government targetted 50 billion USD of bilateral trade in 2014.
