REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BANDA ACEH -- The South Korean investors should invest in archipelagic regions such as Sabang, Simeulue, Pulau Banyak, and Aceh Singkil district, urged Muzakir Manaf, vice governor of the Indonesian province of Aceh.
"We are hopeful that the investors will invest in archipelagic areas, for instance to build solar power plants," Muzakir stated on the sidelines of his meeting with the South Korean businessmen from the Goka group and Samyong Korea, here on Tuesday.
The South Korean entrepreneurs also expressed their commitment to Muzakir Manaf about investing in the Pidie Jaya district.
On the occasion, Goka and Samyong also confirmed about their plans to initiate construction of a bio-oil factory in the Pidie Jaya district.
The bio-oil factory will be constructed on a 10-hectare plot of land, with an investment worth about 550 billion per year.
The South Korean investors have also planned to build a special seaport at the bio-oil factory to facilitate the supply of raw materials and to transport the finished produce for export.
In addition, Muzakir also hopes that the South Korean investors will invest across the Aceh province in sectors such as horticulture, fisheries, agriculture, and agro-industry.
