REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, SIDOARJO - State owned telecommunications operator, PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia (Telkom) modify information and communication technology (ICT) to help small medium enterprises (SME) enterpreneurs in their busines activities, especially to enter global market. Telkom Enterprise and Business Director, Muhammad Awaluddin said that SME had major contribution in national economy, but they had not fully explored ICT.
"ICT application will make it easier and accelerate them to go global," Awaluddin said recently.
Through a program of SME Indonesia Bisa, Telkom will facilitate ICT in 100 SME centers throughout Indonesia. The pilot project has been carried out in 20 SME centers in Jakarta, Bogor, Tangerang, Bekasi, Serang and Karawang.
Telkom expects to attract 500 thousand SME enterpreneurs this year in IndiPreneur program. Company aims to use 70 percent of 100 SME centers to provide voice and SMS based services while the rest will be used for ICT application.
