Indonesian peacekeeping mission personnel arrives from Congo

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - The Indonesian Military's Garuda Contingent (Kizi Konga XX-J Task Force) personnel assigned for UN peacekeeping mission in Congo arrived in Jakarta after one year of duty. They were replaced by new batch of Indonesian military personnel departed for Congo on Dec. 31.

Indonesia's Military Chief Gen. Moeldoko led a welcoming ceremony at TNI's headquarter in Cilangkap, East Jakarta on Monday.

Moeldoko was accompanied by Air Force chief of staff Air Marshall Ida Bagus Putu Dunia and Navy chief of staff Admiral Marsetio. 

"I always ask our soldiers serving in foreign countries to make Indonesia proud. And I received many credits from commander there as well as from the UN secretary general," Moeldoko said on Monday.

Kizi Konga XX-J Task Force has 175 members, it consists of 151 army soldiers, 19 navy soldiers and five air force soldiers.

They built Bailley bridge, which connected Durba and Nzopi village, rehabilitation of 25 kilometer's Duru-Bitima Street and Moke bridge.They also renovated a prison in Dungu Town and build Dungu-Ngilima Street along 40 km.
