REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, KLATEN - Ministry of Agriculture plans to increase fertilizer subsidy up by 18 trillion IDR to support national rice production plan. Minister of Agriculture, Suswono said that government would also fulfill the demands on subsidized fertilizer.

"Government will fulfill all farmers' demands (on subsidized fertilizer)," Suswono said on Tuesday.

Farmers are facing subsidized fertilizer scarcity as it disappear from the market due to the increasing of the fertilizer's recomended retail price. Furthermore, the increase causes the production's decline from 9.2 million tonnes to 8.6 million tonnes.

Now, farmers can get subsidized fertilizer based on their needs as long as they have definitive plans  approved by local government. PT Pupuk Indonesia as state owned fertilizer company also provides fertilizer supply for areas that experience a shortage of supply.
