REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, TEGAL -- A bus overturned in a paddy field at Rembul village in Central Java's Tegal district on Tuesday, killing six people and injuring tens of others.
Kholisoh, 35, who was among those who survived the accident, said the driver lost control of the bus when it was negotiating a bend on the road.
"I don't know exactly how the accident happened. I only know the bus was moving at a high speed and then it overturned in a paddy field," she added.
The dead victims have been taken to the D.R. Soesilo Hospital in Slawi, Central Java, while the injured were rushed to a local public health service clinic.
Police are still investigating the cause of the accident.
The bus was carrying residents of the Babakan Madang village in Bogor district, West Java, who were on a religious visit to Central Java.
The bus accident occurred as the passengers were returning to their tourist accommodation at Guci in Slawi, the capital of Tegal district.
