REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, NAYPITAW -- Indonesian martial arts 'Pencak Silat' athlete, Mohammad Adhan Rusdin grabs a gold medal in category of 55 to 60 kilograms in the final match of SEA Games 2014 at Zayat Thiri Indoor Stadium C, Naypyitaw, Myanmar on Sunday. Athlete from Donggala, Central Sulawesi immediately performs the prostration of gratitude once he obtains the blessing.

There are five Indonesian martial arts athletes followed the match, but only Rusdin got the medal.

"Finally, I achieved gold medal after struggled over a strong opponent, especially supported by the audiences," Rusdin said on Sunday.

This is the first time he joined the SEA Games. In the first round, he played slowly to dominate the match. His punches and kicks always resulted points. In the second round, he continued to get pressure from the host athlete. The coach asked him to continue to attack.

In the final round, his rival continued to press. But, Rusdin remained calm and began to lead the game. Finally, he was able to turn things around. In the last five minutes, he was finally able to win the game.

Rusdin's victory got a protest from Myanmar's coach as Indonesian player has been two times out of the ring. However, the referee still decided Indonesian player as the winner.
