Hary Wisnu to play saxophone for 24 hours to break world record

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, YOGYAKARTA - Indonesian musicians, Hary Wisnu Yuniarta will break Guinness World Record (GWR) by blowing and playing saxophone for 24 hours. His performance will be recorded by GWR of United States and Record Holders Republic headquarters in London.

The performance will be held in an open stage of Ramayana Prambanan, Yogyakarta, on Saturday and Sunday this week. The audience will see Wisnu's performance with view of Prambanan temple. Wisnu prepares 500 songs with various rhythms. There are 12 genres of music, such as pop, latin, classic, reggae, as well as Indonesian folksongs, from Sabang to Merauke.

"Prambanan as the most beautiful temple in South East Asia deserves to be the best place to break the world record," President Director of PT Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur, Prambanan, and Ratu Boko said on Thursday.

Wisnu previously broke another record by breathlessly blowing pentatonic saxophone for 90 minutes at Ratu Boko and Prambanan Temple on September 10, 2013. He also recorded an achievement listed at Indonesian Museum of Records (MURI) on Desember 14, 2008 by playing saxophone for 12 hours.

Wisnu was born in Yogyakarta. He has got well experience in collaboration with several orchestras in Indonesia, such as with Twillite Orchestra, Sympony Orchestra, and Nusantara Philharmony Orchestra.
