REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MAKASSAR -- President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono is expected to attend an event commemorating National Social Solidarity Day (HKSN) at the Karebosi Square here on December 21.
"According to the plan, the president will attend the HKSN event in Makassar because it will be held at the Karebosi Square," director for social solidarity and heroic pioneer at the social affairs ministry Andi Hanindito said here on Wednesday.
He pointed out that his visit to Makassar is aimed at meeting South Sulawesi provincial government officials to discuss the solidarity day's events.
Andi noted that governors from all provinces in the country are expected to attend the HKSN event because it is being held in South Sulawesi.
"We are coordinating with the South Sulawesi government. We are awaiting confirmation from the central government about the president's planned visit to South Sulawesi," Andi added after meeting South Sulawesi Deputy Governor Agus Arifin Nu'Mang.
At the HKSN event, all the governors are expected to sign a National Social Solidarity Day charter in the presence of the president.
"The signing of the charter will be witnessed by the president and the United Indonesia cabinet ministers," he said.
Agus Arifin Nu'mang noted that South Sulawesi is prepared to host the HKSN event.
"We have completed 90 percent of our preparations. We are now waiting for confirmation from the central government," Agus added.
