REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, TOKYO -- President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono is scheduled to deliver a lecture to the attendees of the Japan-ASEAN Summit in Tokyo, which will be held from December 12 to 15.
President Yudhoyono will deliver a four-hour lecture one day before a three-day summit begins on Thursday, according to information received from the Japanese government on Wednesday.
Later, the Indonesian leader will lead the Indonesian delegation and meet Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.
The President's entourage will include several senior ministers, who will arrive at Haneda Airport in Tokyo on Thursday evening.
On Friday morning, the Indonesian delegation will hold talks with their Japanese counterparts to discuss a wide range of issues in the economic and security fields.
The summit will be preceded by a series of bilateral talks between Japan and five ASEAN member states, including Malaysia, Brunei Darussalam, the Philippines and Indonesia.
The summit between Japan and all the ASEAN member states will be held on Saturday, which will discuss the possibility of enhanced cooperation between both sides, as well as the prospects of regional cooperation.
On Saturday evening, the Japanese prime minister will hold a press conference for local and foreign journalists.
Japan will hold a summit with other ASEAN member states, including Thailand, Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia, on Sunday morning.
