REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Haj and umrah package, which are offered by many travel agencies in Indonesia gains high demand from market. Chairman of Association of Haj and Umrah Organizers (Amphuri), Masyhuri Fuad Hasan said that medium umrah package was the most demanded by public with price of two thousand USD.
"This package is the most sold," Hasan said recently.
In an event of Mandiri International Islamic Expo in Jakarta Convention Center on December 6-8, 2013, many visitors choosed medium umrah package in some booths of travel agents. Hasan said that his travel agency managed to sell 500 thousand umrah packages. The figure is expected to reach 650 to 700 thousand packages this year.
This expo also offered Haj package with price range of 8,000 to 30 thousand USD. It depended on facilities, such as food, lodging and transportation.
Hasan said that public demand in 2013 was greater than last year. It was seen from number of visitors that came to the expo, though they had to pay admission. More than 50 travel agents participated in this event.
