REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Halim Perdanakusuma airport will be opened for commercial flights in January 2014. It helps to overcome density at Soekarno - Hatta International Airport and to cope emergencies.

"Based on evaluation, response time of Airport Emergency Plan (AEP) is two minutes and 21 seconds. It has reached the standard," General Manager of Halim Perdanakusuma Airport, Iwan Krishadianto said on Friday.

AEP training at Halim airport on December 5, 2013 proceeded smoothly with two minutes and 21 seconds. It is better than the standard of three minutes based on International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).

AEP training involved 400 personnel who were able to perform their role very well. The trainers came from state owned airport operator, PT Angkasa Pura II.
