Export value of Jakarta in October up over 11 percent

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Jakarta's exports of non oil-non gas in October 2013, worth US1.06 billion dollars, rose 11.76 percent compared with US 945.73 million dollars in September, according to the Central Bureau of Statistic (BPS).

Jakarta's provincial BPS office stated on its website here on Monday that Jakarta's export value in October 2013 was 0.55 percent higher, if compared to 2012.

Contributions of export value of Jakarta's products to the total export value through Jakarta reached 24.95 percent, or rose 1.69 points compared with the contribution in September 2013, which reached 23.26 percent.

Meanwhile, the value of non-oil-non gas exports through Jakarta in October 2013 reached US 4.24 billion dollars, or rose 4.19 percent compared with the value in September 2013, which reached US 4.07 billion dollars.

In the meantime, if the 2013 export value is compared with that of the same month in 2012, the export value in October 2013 was also 2.92 percent higher, the statement said.

In addition, BPS reported that the number of foreign tourist visits to Jakarta in October 2013 reached 198,066 people, or declined 4.65 percent compared with 207,723 tourists in September 2013.
