South Bali PLN builds 329 additional substations

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, DENPASAR - State owned electricity company, PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) for South Bali to build 329 additional substations to anticipate electrical interference during the rainy season. Public Relation Officer of South Bali PLN, I Wayan Redika said that electricity peak in South Bali has reached 720 megawatts (MW) of 770 MW that could be provided.

"We built additional substations to improve power quality to solve problems in existing substation due to the rainy season," Redika said recently.

PLN customers in South Bali, including Badung, Tabanan and Denpasar reached 400 thousand customers. Redika said that company did not want the impact of disrupted substation would be disturbed power supplies in rainy season. Heavy rains usually caused high impact to substation.

Redika hopes that community will actively report to PLN through telephone number of 123 if there is a disruption. Based on PLN experience, electrical disruption occurs during rainy season in most of Tabanan, Petang and Badung as there are many large trees and cliffs there.
