REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Political observer from University of Indonesia (UI) Boni Hargens said, PDIP Party Chairman Megawati Sukarnoputri will not be running for President in the next presidential election 2014. It seems, Hargens said, Mega has no ambition to become a presidential candidate.
"Mega determined not to go forward as a candidate. I know it from internal PDIP party source," he said at Gallery Cafe, Cikini, Jakarta, Sunday (10/11).
If there are internal PDIP cadres who keep pushing her forward as a presidential candidate Megawati, Boni said, he also ensured there is a hidden agenda inside PDIP Party. It is difficult to predict.
According to Boni, Megawati will approve various survey resulting people support for Jokowi, Joko Widodo the current Jakarta's Governor, as Indonesia's would be next president.
"Mega will be ready if Jokowi run for presidency paired with old figures like Prabowo and Surya Paloh," he said.
