REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, SURABAYA -- Golkar Party asked the National Awakening Party (PKB) to be patient if they want to woo Jusuf Kalla (JK) as a presidential candidate for the next 2014 election.

"We ask PKB to be patient first if they want to woo JK as presidential candidate. We hope PKB not to destroy the existing system in order to raise their party's electability," Golkar Party's Vice Secretary on Winning Elections Division, Ridwan Hisjam in Surabaya on Saturday (9/11).

To protect JK, Golkar were already preparing him many duties. Golkar ordered JK as party's national campaigner for East Java.

"I've asked for him to be a national campaigner of Golkar in East Java. As a senior cadre, he was obliged to do so," Hisjam said who claims to date have not received a reply from JK.

However, he was sure JK will not refuse the order. Even, he believed that JK will be happily to support Golkar, especially in East Java.

In addition to serving as Chairman of Golkar in a periode, JK was also proven to be successful over a period to be a Vice-President in 2004-2009.

"Once, Akbar Tanjung (previous party's Chairman) has also been doing the same thing, who directly involved in legislative election campaign. That time when the Party led by Chairman JK," Hisjam said.

JK was chosen as a campaigner in East Java is not without reason. According to Ridwan, JK is known to be close to the scholars and clerics in the province.

"Supporters of Jusuf Kalla came from Nahdlatul Ulama, especially religious scholars and clerics. This is to be aware of and we hope that other party not to disturb him," he said.

JK names appear on the list of presidential candidacies of PKB for the upcoming presidential election.

Beside JK, there is also the name of the former Chairman of the Constitutional Court Mahfouz MD and King of Dangdut Rhoma Irama.
