Balinese 'kopi luwak' promoted to Hainan deputy governor

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, DENPASAR - Governor of Bali, Made Mangku Pastika introduced kopi luwak' or luwak coffee to Deputy Governor of Hainan, Chen Zhi Rong. He delivered it when received the Hainan governor and his officials recently in Denpasar, Bali.

The arrival of Hainan officials aims to explore economic cooperation with Bali provincial government. Hainan governor greatly appreciated bids of Bali, such as trade cooperation of kopi luwak in Hainan.

Bali and Hainan are two provinces from two different countries that are also members of Forum of Inter Island Tourism Policy (ITOP). Both provinces have been also cooperating in tourism sector.

"Bali has many agricultural products, such as fresh fruits and processed products that can be sold in China, especially in Hainan," Pastika said.

Indonesia and China have built trade cooperation. However, it still needs more specific cooperation between the two provinces. To follow up the plan, Chen Zhi Rong invited Bali provincial government to visit Hainan to participate in agricultural exhibition on December 12-16, 2013.

Hainan is one of international tourism destinations which is supported by advanced and modern facilities. Though it is only an island, Hainan has the fastest railway track with length of 300 kilometers linked from one region to another. Hainan also has two international airports which is visited by 30 million tourists every year.

Good cooperation between Bali and Hainan is also expected to make Hainan tourists visiting Bali. Agricultural cooperation is expected to increase export and import between two provinces.
