REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Boy Garibaldi Thohir, Adaro Energy boss expressed his happiness to acquisition of Italian Inter Milan Football Club by his brother Erick Thohir.

"[I] hope it can contribute to the nation and the state," he said in Jakarta, Tuesday (22/10) afternoon.

According to Boy, the acquisition was a good step because Inter Milan FC is a world-class club. He hoped that the purchase could boost Indonesia's name to the international arena.

Garibaldi Thohir is CEO of Indonesia's Adaro Energy, the world's fourth-largest coal producer. He owns one sixth of the company. Thohir or "Boy," as he is nicknamed, has plans for Adaro to produce 80 million metric tons by 2014.

According to Forbes, he has improved productivity and is, like his brother, on the hunt for acquisitions. Boy also heads Surya Esa Perkasa, Indonesia's second-largest private liquefied petroleum gas refinery company, which recently went public.

His first name comes from the famous Italian war hero, General Garibaldi. His father, Mochamad Teddy Thohir, was the highest-ranking Indonesian in Union Carbide's country office and then one of the founders of Astra International, which grew into the nation's largest car dealer.
