Dahlan Iskan hopes 'the new star' Evan Dimas to stay low profile

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, SUKABUMI -- Dahlan Iskan, The Minister of State owned Enterprises (SEOs) expected Indonesia's rising football star, Evan Dimas to stay low profile.

"Do not let Evan Dimas mentally disturbed. It's feared, due to victorious euphoria and compliment, he forgot himself. So I asked my students in SSB Mitra Surabaya to remain humble," Dahlan said, on Monday (21/10), who also the adviser for the football school of SSB Mitra Surabaya where Evan learned how to kick a ball.

According to him, the concern at this time is Dimas popularity. Even though he also believes Dimas would be able to be restraint, not complacent to flattery or anti critique. He hopes Dimas will remain humble.

"There are a lot of our students in SSB Mitra Surabaya as talented as Evan Dimas. That's why we continue to maintain their mentalities and expertise on football and never give up," he said.

Speaking about commercial offers, he said, its up to Dimas to decide it by himself. "More importantly, do not interfere with his training schedule and, in case, he becomes more popular he should not forget himself and should be remain humble," he said.

Evan Dimas regarded as Indonesia's newly born football star as he scored three goals in Indonesia’s 3-2 win over South Korea in the Asia Cup U-19 group qualifier at Bung Karno Stadium in Jakarta, on Saturday (12/10).
