REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, SUKABUMI -- President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono attended the launching of Social Security Agency (BPJS) in Sukabumi, West Java on Monday. This event was held at School Education Officers (Setukpa).
About 140 representatives of state owned companies attended the event. BPJS declaration will be conducted by government next year, particularly BPJS Health.
Health insurance (PT Askes) and social security (PT Jamsostek) will merge into BPJS Health or BPJS Insurance in January 1, 2014. President Yudhoyono inagurated the signing of a joint commitment among all state owned companies, such as Jasa Marga, Bank Mandiri, BRI, BTN, Telkom, Kereta Api Indonesia, Bulog, Pegadaian, Perkebunan Nusantara II, PLN, Pertamina, Angkasa Pura 1, Aneka Tambang, Indofarma, Kimia Farma, Krakatau Steel, as well as Semen Kupang.
General Director of PT Askes, Fachmi Idris said that BPJS would cover at least 121 million people in Indonesia, consisted of 86.4 million participants of Jamkesmas, Askes (16.4 million participants), Social Security (eight million participants), active military and police personnels (3.3 million participants) and also Jamkesda (21.6 million participants).
