REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, Love. The word unites a husband and wife at 24th flight group from Pandeglang, Banten in a hajj pilgrimage to the Holy Land. Rumsah (60 years) remains faithful to accompany her husband, Sapran (65 years) to Baitullah or the Home of God.

Rumsah was also taking care of her ailing husband. A month before leaving, Sapran suffers paralysis. Both thighs and legs are limp, so it cannot longer stand. Sapran forced himself to go to Mecca with a wheelchair.

Early morning last week, Sapran’s family went to Hajj Dormitory of Pondok Gede by bus. Rumsah and Sapran were accompanied by their seven children and grandchildren. Both elderly couple are farmers. They never go to abroad and far from large cities. In fact, Sapran is also difficult to speak Indonesian language.

Dedi, the son, said when his father was still in good health, the man opened a small shop which sold daily necessities. They collected funds little by little to be saved for Hajj pilgrimage. Three years ago, they both registered as Hajj pilgrims.

"He used to be strong. He was a football player before. However, once he completed manasik (rituals of hajj), his legs paralyzed and could not stand up," Dedi said.

But now Sapran was very happy. He looked at her wife, while Rumsah occasionally wiped sweat from his husband's neck.

"Pray for us. Hopefully we will have a save trip," Sapran said.
