REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - PT Pertamina EP, subsidiary of state owned oil and gas company PT Pertamina targets oil and condensate production to reach 125 thousand to 127 thousand barrels per day (bpd) this year. The target exceeds assumption made in 2013 state budget of 123,330 bpd.

"This figure relies on maintenance of existing wells without new land acquisition. If the drilling plan in additional 30 wells could be conducted, then the production would be more than 129 thousand bpd," Public Relations Manager of Pertamina EP, Agus Amperianto said recently.

None of 30 wells in plan has been realized. The wells are located in Jambi, South Sumatra and East Kalimantan. Most of drilling areas are challenged by land acquisition problems.

According to Regulation No. 2/2012 on Land Procurement for Development in Public Interest, land acquisition process involves some agencies, such as National Land Agency and Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities. The regulation allows the land acquisition process in 584 days. Amperianto hopes to find breakthrough to solve the land acquisition problems.
