REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - State owned agribusiness holding, PT Rajawali Nusantara Indonesia (RNI) through its subsidiary, PT Mitra Rajawali Kerinci increases volume of tea export to several countries. President Director of RNI, Ismed Hasan Putro said that the destination countries were Taiwan, Germany and Pakistan.
"We respond the weakening IDR by increasing tea export. IDR depreciation is a blessing for us," Putro said in Jakarta on Thursday.
Mitra Rajawali Kerinci which has some plantation areas in West Sumatra will export green and black tea about 15 containers per month or equals to 6.4 billion IDR to Taiwan. Improvement in market confidence and tea consumer in Taiwan leads to high volume of demand for tea from RNI.
Through Indonesia's Trade Attache Embassy in Taiwan, RNI successfully negotiated a plan to increase volume export of black tea and green tea about five to 10 containers during September to December 2013. RNI's black tea has the best quality in the world. Some countries have become destination countries for tea export, for example Netherland, Germany, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Pakistan.
