REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, KENDARI - Raja Ampat in West Papua is ready to host Sail Indonesia 2014. Head of Sail and Tourism Indonesia Association (Aswindo), Hugua, said this event would be attended by 180 luxury sailing ships or yacths from various countries which would depart from Australia.
"Government of Raja Ampat Regency has expressed its readiness to host Sail Indonesia 2014 through an official letter to Aswindo," Hugua who also regent of Wakatobi, said recently.
Sail Indonesia is an annual yacht rally and now in its 13th. Sail Indonesia 2013 is centered in Komodo, East Nusa Tenggara and 80 yatchs will participate in this event. Participants will be able to experience different people and their cultures, different lifestyles, different arts, different crafts, wonderful foods and of course different languages.
Hugua expects that government of Southeast Sulawesi, especially Buton can take advantages from the arrival of yatchs this year. Local people can introduce their cultural traditions.
Participants of Sail Indonesia 2013 want to stop in districts which serve various cultural attractions. They want to see society, its nature and environmental condition that are still natural like in Wakatobi, Buton, Bau-Bau and Bombana.
