Govt to auction Bengawan Solo Bridge project

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BOJONEGORO - Local government of Bojonegoro regency in East Java plans to hold an auction construction of Bengawan Solo Bridge to link Padangan and Kasiman district. Government allovates 36.5 billion IDR for the project and it will be auctioned in middle of August 2013.

Head of Department of Public Works in Bojonegoro, Andi Tjandra said Bengawan Solo Bridge project would be began this year. The winner who win the bidding will be announced this month. 

"We willl get approval from Ministry of Public Works on construction of this bridge  after this Eid al-Fitr," Tjandra said on Friday.

Local government has allocated 30.5 billion IDR from regional budget 2013, while the rest of 5.8 billion IDR will be proposed in revised regional budget 2013. Additional funds is needed to construct the right and left cliffs of Bengawan Solo to support the bridge. 

Bengawan Solo Bridge will open many isolated residents in northern and southern of Bengawan Solo River. This bridge will also anticipate development of Bojonegoro and Blora in Central Java as oil and gas industry area.

The bridge will have length of 168 meters, width of seven feet with steel framed type. This bridge will be similar to Kalikhetek Bridge which cross Bengawan Solo River at Banjarsari Village.
