Special Detachment 88 takes part in investigation of police shooting incident

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Police anti-terror unit Special Detachment 88 (Densus 88) is participating in the investigation of recent police shooting incidents in Ciputat, Tangerang.

"Densus 88 takes part because the suspects are terrorists," Jakarta Metropolitan Police head of public relations division Senior Commissioner Rikwanto said on Wednesday.

He said the investigation was done also in connection with recent bombing at Ekayana Budhist Temple in Kepa Duri, West Jakarta. First Adjunct Inspector Dwiatno died after he was shot by unknown person in Ciputat, Tangeran Selatan, Banten, at around 5 am on Wednesday.

Another police officer, Second Adjunct Inspector Patah Saktiyono (53 years), meanwhile was shot by two people on a motorbike in Cirendeu, Ciputat, earlier on Saturday at around 4.30 am. A light bomb meanwhile exploded at Ekayana Budhist Temple in Kepa Duri at around 7.01 pm on Sunday.
