REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, SIDOARJO - There are approximately 3000 small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Sidoarjo, Mojokerto, Jombang and Pasuruan regency ready to market their products aboard. Telkom Company has provided online system to facilitate the trade.

The growth of SMEs in Sidoarjo and its neighbor cities are relatively high compared to other region, Mohammad Awaluddin, the Enterprise Bussiness service Telkom Director said in a dialogue with businessman and SMEs in Sidoarjo, East Java on Monday

“We see Sidoarjo as one of the cities with high economic growth which is dominantly fueled by SMEs,” he said.

Awaluddin argued that higher economic growth could be achieved in Sidoarjo if the solution provided by Telkom Company can be realized in the various fields such as SMEs, education, government institution, business and ect.

One thousand wifi access points had been prepared to connect SME communities in Sidoarjo, he said. With the big potential of SMEs in Sidoarjo, East Java is supposed to be the center of SME market in Indonesia. There will be 100.000 SME communities in Indonesia that will be connected digitally. Hence it would stimulate Indonesian economy to grow faster, he said.
