President reveals strategy to tackle global economic slowdown

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono revealled his strategy to tackle global economic slowdown. 

"First, all ministries must maintain growth of Indonesia's economic that relies on investment, consumption and accelerates state budget. No more obstacle in investment and Minister of Finance prepares policy to improve investment climate," Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Hatta Rajasa said on Friday.

Second, President asked to controll inflation especially food inflation which contributed the most to total inflation. Third, Yudhoyono asked all ministries to get rid of bottleneck problem to spur industry and increased employment. President also warned the spending on infrastructure in 2013 and 2014 must be in accordance  to the plan. 

Fourth, government must stick to the social security program worth 20 trillion IDR in 2013. Fifth, President also asked a special session to evaluate agricultural sector policies, including trade system to achieve self sufficiency in food.  Currently the world including Europe still faces economic uncertainty. Similar problem also occurs in some Asian giant like China and India.
