KakaoTalk users reach 100 million people

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Kakao, a provider of mobile application for messenger KakaoTalk, gives appreciation to the 99,999,999th user. The lucky one who gets special prize from Kakao Talk is Andi Maryam, a 17 years old girl from Makassar. 

"KakaoTalk provides Maryam return tickets and accommodation for three nights to South Korea. We are very pleased to know that more and more Indonesian people use Kakao application and the 99,999,999th user is from Indonesia," Vice President of Global Business Development at Kakao Corp, Kate Sohn said on Friday.

Kakao celebrates its achievement of 100 million users. This announcement indicates the important contribution of Indonesian market for KakaoTalk in the last three years. Sohn considered the social life of community had brought Indonesia as the country with the highest growth of KakaoTalk users. This impressive growth also demonstrates the succes of marketing target conducting by Kakao in Indonesia.

To welcome the holy month of Ramadan in Indonesia, KakaoTalks has recently launched a series of television commercials with Ramadan theme by displaying NOAH, a popular band in Indonesia. NOAH  introduce new and creative ways to communicate using live emoticons.
