Minister: Indonesia doesn't want to be involved the internal affairs in Egypt

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Minister of Foreign Affairs, Marty Natalegawa said Indonesia concerned over the latest development in Egypt. Natalegawa asked Indonesian citizens living in Egypt to remain abide by the rules, avoid places of mass gathering and not to be involved ininternal affairs of Egypt.

"Indonesian government hopes that process of democratic transition in Egypt runs well, orderly and peaceful. I hope the situation in Egypt to recover soon and democratization process runs smoothly," Natalegawa said on Thursday.

Natalegawa also instructed the Indonesian Embassy in Cairo to stay alert and provide the necessary assistance and protection for Indonesian citizens. On his Twitter, Yudhoyono wrote that crisis in Egypt was shocking the thing that shocked the world, including Indonesia.

Yudhoyono explained that Indonesian military fully support Indonesian democratization and support internal reforms. He said pople must not forget reconciliation after they experience political change.
