Pertamina to supply high speed diesel to Freeport

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -  The largest state-owned company of Indonesia, PT Pertamina and US-based gold mining company, PT Freeport Indonesia signed a letter of intent (LoI) on the sale and purchase of high speed diesel. Pertamina would supply diesel fuel to Freeport for a year.

The signing was between President Director of Pertamina, Karen Agustiawan and President Director of Freeport Indonesia, Rozik Boedioro Soetjipto at Pertamina office on Monday. Vice President of Corporate Communication at Pertamina, Ali Mundakir said Pertamina would give the best service to the company.

Pertamina will supply high speed diesel for Freeport Indonesia 21 thousands kiloliters per month. According to the LoI, Pertamina will supply high speed diesel for a year with an option it can be extended twice each year. The extension is considering the evaluation results and also performance of the supply every year.

Beside diesel fuel, Freeport Indonesia also uses Pertamina's products, such as aviation fuel or avtur, for company's operation. Freeport Indonesia will use the diesel fuel for operational needs at the copper mine in Mimika regency, Papua. Soetjipto welcomes the signing of LoI. He is optimistic that cooperation will be successful and satisfying.
