Indonesia wins at Indonesian Dragon Boat 2013 in Padang

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, PADANG - Indonesian team won the Indonesian Dragon Boat (IDB) 2013 in Padang, West Sumatra on June 3 to 9, 2013. IDB 2013 was held along flood flow canal of Haji Agus Salim Sport Hall complex.

Indonesia was represented by best rowers from West Sumatra. They defeated Australia and Malaysia in the final round of 800 meters on Sunday night.

"Indonesian team competed in three tracks and directly ahead since 30 meters from the start point. They drove left two opponents and entered the finish line in 03 minutes 41 seconds," said Chief Executive of Padang International Dragon Boat XI, Yosefriawan.

Meanwhile, the Australian team had to work hard to continue to occupy the second position but they failed. They were defeated by Malaysian team which finished at second palce in 04 minutes, 41 seconds. Australia has to settle for third position.

Indonesian team deserved to receive rotating trophy from Minster of Tourism and Creative Economy as well as coaching money worth 12.5 million IDR. While, Malaysian team earned money 8.5 million IDR and Australian team worth seven million IDR. The competition was closed by Minister of Youth and Sports, Roy Suryo.
