REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Indonesia's biggest energy firm, PT Pertamina only recorded oil production at 457 thousand barrel per day until April 30, 2013. The production volume was 11 percent lower than the target on Pertamina's 2013 budget and work plan.

"We targetted to produce 514.2 thousand barrel per day until April 30. The mismatch between production and Pertamina's 2013 budget and work plan because two subsidiaries, Pertamina EP and Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE) failed to achieve the target," President Director of Pertamina, Karen Agustiawan said in a meeting with Commission VII of the House on Wednesday.

Agustiawan explained that Pertamina EP was 10 percent less of its target, while PHE production was 14 percent less of its target. Thus, the total oil production of Pertamina was 203 thousand barrel per day.

Agustiawan admitted that Pertamina failed to fulfill quota 30 percent of national production. But over the years, she said Pertamina's oil production had increased seven percent after implemented  I/EOR program. However, the main challenge to smooth I/EOR program was land acquisition and coordination among agencies to support national production.
