REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Moody's Investor Services rises rating of five Indonesian banks. The five banks are Bank Central Asia (BCA), Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI), Bank Mandiri, Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI), and Bank Permata.

Moody's rises the local and foreign currency deposit rating to Baa3. Moody's also rises the baseline credit assessment of four banks. Two of them receive an investment grade rating.

"Prospect of financial strength ratings of four banks are stable, except BNI which has positive outlook," Moody's said in a statement on Friday.

The increase in baseline credit assessment is given to BCA, BRI, Bank Mandiri and Bank Permata, as well as a positive outlook for BNI reflect the consistency of their strong financial performance over the last three years. This is evident from the strong asset quality and profitability.

Moody's expects Indonesian climate that supports asset quality and profitability can continue. Credit growth of five banks are very strong, 18 to 26 percent since five years ago.
