REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Government plans to increase subsidized fuel quota to meet domestic demands. Deputy Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Susilo Siswoutomo, said that government would hold a meeting with the House of Representative.

"It's very possible to increase the quota despite government has applied the two-price policy by increasing fuel price for car," Siswoutomo said on Wednesday, without elaborating.

According to 2013 national budget, the government's subsidized fuel quota for the year stood at 46 million kiloliters (kl). However, Upstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Special Force (SKK Migas) predicts as the fuel use increases 20 percent per year, the quota can increase to 53 million kl. The two-price policies will only push consumption up to 48 million kl.

Sugiharto, President Commissioner of Pertamina said that the company would continue to avoid over quota. "We have 46 million kl in April. We still have time to manage," he said.
