US welcomes Indonesian commitment on Papuan case

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - The United States expressed its concern over Papuan shooting incident that cost eight lives. In a written statement through its Embassy in Jakarta, the nation also welcomed the statement of Indonesian government on Papuan shooting case. 

"The United States condemns the violence that led to the deaths of eight Indonesian soldiers in Papua on February 21," it said and offered deep condolences to the families of those slain. 

"We welcome the Indonesian Government's statement that it will work to arrest and prosecute the perpetrators, in accordance with Indonesian law."
