Six Trans Java toll roads to be done in 2014

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Minister of Public Works, Djoko Kirmanto, is optimistic that six of nine projected toll road sections of Trans Java mega project will be done by the end of 2014. He explained that the six sections were Cikampek - Palimanan, Semarang - Solo, Solo - Ngawi, Ngawi - Kertosono, Mojokerto - Surabaya.

"Despite some problems on financing, these projects run well as no problem in land acquisition," Kirmanto said on Tuesday.

He mentioned that Vice President Boediono asked the Ministry of Public Works to speed up and monitor the projects. The building of Trans Java, one of the project in Master plan for the Acceleration and Expansion of Indonesian Economic Development (MP3EI), aims to support economic development.

The nine toll road sections are Cikampek - Palimanan, Pejagan - Pemalang, Pemalang - Batang, Batang - Semarang, Semarang - Solo, Solo - Mantingan - Ngawi, Ngawi - Kertosono, Kertosono - Mojokerto, and Surabaya - Mojokerto.
