REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Floods affected several areas in Jakarta last week have damage roads. Government predicts that they need at least 55 billion IDR to fix or repair the roads this year.
"The fund will be used to repair the damage, overlay, and clean sewage system and sidewalk," Director General of Bina Marga at the Ministry of Public Works, Djoko Murjanto, said on Friday.

About 106 kilometers out of 453 kilometers national roads in Jakarta and vicinity are damaged by flood, creating holes in several spots. But, he considered the damaged as minor damage.
The most severe damage is found in Marunda, North Jakarta. He said that the restoration needed further studies. "Marunda has once drown before we elevated the ground level," he explained.
Several flood-damaged roads are TB. Simatupang, Raya Bogor, Trans Yogi, Mayjen Sutoyo, S. Parman, Latumenten, Pluit Selatan Raya, Lodan Raya and Taman Stasiun Priok.
Murjanto said about 23 billion IDR fund would be derived from maintenance budget, while the rest would come from other budgets in Directorate General of Bina Marga. "The roads also need permanent restoration that can cost up to 90 billion IDR," he said.
