Merpati to open new 'city check in' programs

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - PT Merpati Nusantara Airlines will open nine new "city check in" programs at some of its branch offices in Indonesia. Merpati will open the service in as no-added charge service in Jakarta, Yogyakarta, Surabaya, Denpasar, Mataram, Bima, Kupang, and Makassar

"Through the 'city check in' service, we hope our customers will be more satisfied and continue to make use of our services," said Vice President Corporate Secretary of Merpati Airlines Herry Saptanto here on Sunday. "We do hope our customer will be more loyal to use our flight service and we also can reach the amount of passenger and income targets." 

Besides the proximity of the check in place, Saptanto added the city check in service is also available for the customer in group. But, still the passenger should bring their IDs or passports with appropriates name on the tickets. "They have to arrive in the airport at least an hour before the flight and pay the airport tax on the place," he said.

Nevertheless, Saptanto assured that the city check in service will save much time for the customer. "They would not be in hurry to reach the airport just for check in. They can directly register their baggage and wait in the lounge before depart," he said.

Regarding the important of service improvement, Saptanto noted Merpati was also up graded their employees` capacity with the human resource development training. "We have signed the cooperation with the Marine Discipline Learning Institute in Surabaya to hold a `Patriotic Leadrship Program`," he said.
