REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - The first Islamic news agency in Indonesia, Mi'raj News Agency (MINA) is launched on Tuesday. The news agency is expected to enrich the collection of Islamic global media and increase international support for Palestine.

"MINA is the spokesman of Muslim in delivering amar ma'ruf nahi mungkar, mainly on supporting the freedom of Al Aqsa Mosque and Palestine," the Chairman of Mina, Muhyiddin Hamidy, said on Tuesday.

The launching of MINA is the real follow-up from the international conference for the freedom of Al-Aqsa Mosque and Palestine in Bandung on July 2012.

"MINA is an alternative media to balance the global opinion from zionist Israel," he said. MINA will bring forward the truth, justice, peace, and honesty based on Islam in its news.

The Speaker of Indonesian House of Representatives, Marzuki Ali, expected MINA to bring welfare for Muslim around the world. He hopes MINA can be the reference for true and honest news.

MINA is established by Pesantren Al-Fatah Indonesia, Medical Emergency Rescue Committee (MER0C) and Aqsa Working Group (AWG). The launching, attended by representatives from Tunisia, United Arab Emirates, Iran and Kuwait, was held in Al-Azhar Mosque in Jakarta.
