REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Indonesian Parliamentary Caucus for Palestine asks Palestine's big factions, Hamas and Fatah, to unite while Jakarta is expected to host the beginning of the process.

"Both leaders of the factions will come to Indonesia on January or March 2013," Coordinator of the caucus, Almuzzamil Yusuf, said on Sunday. He added that OIC parliament was willing to unite both factions.

Yusuf said that reconciliation would ease Palestine to reach victory following its upgraded status in UN.

Spokesman of Indonesian Ministry for Foreign Affairs, Michael Tene, said reconciliation was an unfinished diplomatic mission. He explained that government could only encourage them to cooperate to settle the old conflict between Palestine and Israel.

"Indonesia will keep encourage them to work together," he said.

Meanwhile, Palestine Ambassador to Indonesia, Fariz Mehdawi, apreciated Indonesia for the plan and said that Indonesia had a great commitment to support Palestine.
